Site Analysis Tool
Bay Area Housing Crisis
Through this research project, we investigated the Bay Area Housing Crisis from a supply and demand perspective. The goal of this research was to create a Site Analysis Tool for decision making. By leveraging the wealth of existing data, the tool recommends areas for development based on design principles and user preferences.

IDENTIFYING THE DATA LAYERS
To identify where to build, we developed an interactive site analysis tool that prioritizes 4 layers - Land Use, Socio-Economic, Environment, and Transit. We developed methodologies to quantify qualitative information into a consistent numerical value format.
FINAL PRODUCT
Finally, we developed the back-end scripting and front-end user interface for our tool, which allows users to prioritize layers according to their own design and planning principles, allowing for a design-principle-driven site analysis tool for tackling the Bay Area Housing Crisis.
